Dive #74

Location: Ransvik, Kullen, Sweden
Time down: 14:03 | Time up: 14:43 | Divetime: 40 min | Max depth: 13.5 meter | Average depth: 8.2 meter
Water temp: 6° | O² used: 84 litre | Dil used: 90 litre | Total RB divetime: 9h 30min

First dive with my new HW OSTC 2N Computer. Worked really nice, but i really need to see if I can match the profile even better against the onboard computer of the MkVI. It was pretty cold in the water, felt even colder than the 6 degrees that my OSTC 2N displayed during the dive. Other than that, not a very exciting dive. Visibility was good, but not much marine life yet. Although, I managed to capture a Syngnathus acus. Getting close to 10 hours on my Rebreather, still feel like a newbie.

Heinrichs Weikamp OSTC 2N

Well, since I will be going into Deco and Trimix I needed a backup OC/CC Computer and this one is small and very capable. It is a stand alone computer, so no tracking of the pO2 on your Rebreather. Also, since Poseidons log software is no way near as good as I want it, I found that the OSTC 2N is compatible with MacDive. So I can keep logging my dives in that excellent software. Fairly priced and fully user adjustable. You can even set the colours on the OLED screen.

Dive #73

Location: Ven, Öresund, Sweden
Time down: 15:19 | Time up: 16:14 | Divetime: 45 min | Max depth: 30.0 meter | Average depth: ? meter
Water temp: 5° | O² used: 200 litre | Dil used: 180 litre | Total RB divetime: 8h 50min

Boat dive off the Island of Ven in the middle of the Straight of Öresund. Started the dive close to the shore, 8 meters deep. Big slope down to +30 meters. Very good visibility down to 12 meters, then it turned really bad and we had about 1m of visibility at 30 meters. So we returned to the more shallow waters. Picture is of buddy Nicklas at safety stop.. My new camera rig works excellent.

Location: Ormestad, Gullmarn, Sweden
Time down: 15:19 | Time up: 16:14 | Divetime: 55 min | Max depth: 30.6 meter | Average depth: 20.4 meter
Water temp: 3° | O² used: 120 litre | Dil used: 180 litre | Total RB divetime: 8h 5min

Last dive of the certification. Max depth was set to 30 meters. I had far better buoyancy this dive. 30 meters +/- 0.5 meters during the bottom time of 15 minutes. New bailout drill and SMB deployment. Worked okay this time, but there are a lot of improvements to be done on the SMB part. Went upside down with air in the boots. But managed to solve the situation. So I am definitely fitting new, smaller boots to my drysuit.

Dive #71

Location: Ormestad, Gullmarn, Sweden
Time down: 11:43 | Time up: 12:45 | Divetime: 62 min | Max depth: 25.6 meter | Average depth: 17.2 meter
Water temp: 3° | O² used: 150 litre | Dil used: 330 litre | Total RB divetime: 7h 10min

Back in Gullmarsfjorden, 90 meters deep wall dive. Max depth for this course dive was 25 meters. Maintained it but was struggling to obtain a good buoyancy. But all went well. Came up to 10 meters, bailout drill and SMB practising. Well, bailout went fine. But it’s good if you remember to vent the loop. So went up from 7 meters in a somewhat controlled ascent. Beginner!!
